Project Review: Server Room Upgrade – Data Infrastructure

HEL Rimu recently overhauled a legacy server room setup for a longstanding commercial client that had become inefficient, cluttered, and difficult to maintain. The existing cabinet layout made adding new connections time-consuming and created ongoing challenges for the client’s IT team.

Our Data Technicians proposed a modern, streamlined solution — replacing the traditional data cabinet with open frames and reterminating all 375 data outlets onto structured patch panels. We also relocated and patched the existing switches from an adjacent cabinet directly into the new frame system.

The result is a cleaner, more efficient server space, with improved accessibility, simplified maintenance, and greater flexibility for future expansion.
