HEL Rimu was engaged to deliver the solar installation, working from a Resolve Energy design. Whilst not responsible for the initial design, the team collaborated closely with Resolve Energy and the client throughout the BIM modelling and construction phases to ensure the system met the highest standards.
HEL Rimu managed the full installation of both rooftop and façade-mounted PV systems. The façade installation required a custom mounting solution that allowed for quick and accurate alignment while maintaining a clean and consistent architectural finish. The project scope included design review for construction,
BIM coordination, installation of PV panels, inverters, cabling, and switchgear, and completion of all electrical terminations.
As the first of three buildings on Fisher & Paykel’s new campus, the project demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability by integrating a complex solar PV solution into New Zealand’s largest timber-framed building. Future-proofed with designated BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) stations, the installation supports future expansion and enhances grid resilience.
Delivered in collaboration with Aotea Auckland, this was the first medium-scale solar system completed by HEL Rimu under the partnership.
